Tunare's Blessing

It had been a long night for Linae. She and Merelan, her friend and sister of the Children of Tunare, had spent the night and in Crushbone. They had successfully rid Faydark of the menace of Emperor Crush and his Orc henchmen. They had fallen quite easily to a group of just two adventurers, ladies with both experience and masterful skill of battle. Linae chuckled to herself as she sat high up in the trees of Kelethin remembering the events that had just unfolded. It seems like yesterday that she was running from the more tough inhabitants of Crushbone. Seem like just yesterday that Ambassador D'vinn would have made her and her friend look very foolish for trying to stop the Dark Elves evil plans of conquest of the Faydark. Not so on this night. Even though he was the last of the Inhabitants to die, he only put up a little bit more of a fight than Emperor Crush and his court., before he too fell to his death.

But now things were different. Linae has spent time and practice honing her skill as a Cleric. She has Healed, cured, and aided many other seekers of right in her travels. All it took was time for Liane and Merelan become better at their proffesions. Honing their skills to Master level until such a fight as this was easier than the Carrion Ghouls of Unrest.

You see, Linae has finally reached the 20th circle. A very special moment for all of Norrath, not just for a High Elf that grew up in Freeport. She has reached the point where her god Tunare allows one blessing, one wish for a sir name. A name which all will come to know her and her personality. Ahh but HER sir name will be more that. As she sits high up in the dark woods of Greater Faydark and prays for Tunare to grant her wish, she recollects about times past…

Linae wasn't sure of what her purpose was in Norrath until about the 15th circle. Sure she knew she was a much-esteemed cleric, aiding the other doers of good in fight against evil, but for some reason, it was as if Tunare herself had blessed a special power unto her. The power to vanquish the undead.. Ever since then Linae has slayed hundreds if not thousands of Ghouls and other nasty creatures Necromancers so love, all by herself. This was not done because of a lack of grouping with others, quite the opposite for Linae. She would never put her group in such a precarious position as a fight with a magical creature as a ghoul. This is a danger she felt that she would risk on her own.

As she stared at the dents on her Runed Totem staff, trying to figure out which villain made which dent in it, a figure started to emerge from the darkness, she was tall in stature and wielding a huge two handed sword. Linae jumps to her feet an affirms that she has memorized her most powerful spells.

"You startled me," Linae chuckled silently.

"I am Daegarmo, High Paladin of Tunare."

"Hail and well met," said Daegarmo, "Have you prayed to the gods for your sir name?"

"Yes Daegarmo, I have."

"Mother Tunare, Please give me the blessing to allow her to be recognized for her deeds and actions…" chants the High Elf Paladin in an other wordly tone. A few shards of light emerge from her hand and she waves them about as if trying to cool the warmth that is Tunare's love. "Tunare has granted your wish," declares Daegarmo, "What is the name you wish?"

"Ghoulbane" says Linae, standing as solid as the trees that Kelethin are built on.

"A cleric, wishes the name of a Paladin's weapon?" she asks quizzically. "Are you sure my child?"

"I am the weapon," Linae says with a puzzled look on her face, " against the undead" She wonders why a messenger of Tunare would not know this and decides that Tunare works in mysterious ways and must no have wanted Daegarmo to know of Linae's true purpose in life.

Daegarmo starts to cast spell again. More Lights and warmth emit from the Paladins hands. Out of the darkness Linae feels a warm healing touch. "I have granted you such a name, since Mother Tunare has granted your wish." Daegarmo says in that otherworldly tone again.

"Thank You and Praise Mother Tunare for her blessing," graciously states Linae.

"Continue your quest against those who stand against Mother Tunare," Daegarmo requests.

"To my last breath…," Linae said unfalteringly.

"Farewell! I have others that require my presence." Daegarmo waves her hand and emits more light and warmth and casts a spell on Linae making her feel more protected against evil before the paladin vanishes. "Thank you! And good journeys", she calls into the emptiness of the space where Daegarmoe was before. Linae sits and ponders the events of what has just happened. Telling all her friends before she starts to make her camp. She decides that she will make it here in the cozy trees of Kelethin. She rests well knowing that the world shall finally know her in her true form, Linae Ghoulbane, the living weapon against the undead and Mother Tunare's enemies.
