The Official Children of Tunare’s Cleric’s guide to Norrath Written by : Leto Acumen Welcome Child, It is a wonderful privilege to be able to write you this letter of instruction and advice. As a Cleric you stand among Tunare’s truest children. You are the protector of life and the keeper of it. It is a heavy responsibility and often can be a burden that only you must bear, but it is also a tremendous honor and gift that only you possess. You see, by your birthright’s you have inherited Tunare’s grandest gift – Life itself, and the ability to not only protect it, but to actually give it. If you prove worthy, then in time you will gain the ability to restore the lives of companions who’ve lost that gift in battle. Only YOU, and your Cleric Brother’s and Sister’s will be able to do this. Mother Tunare has given us this – Let me now give you guidance so that you can prove to be one of the most valuable citizens of Norrath. Because you are only beginning, you can still choose your own strengths and weaknesses. Keep in mind that the choices you make now will forever leave their mark upon your person. No power in all of Norrath can ever change the permanence of these decisions. You will need to have certain strengths, first and foremost is that of Wisdom. Your wisdom will determine the strength of your bond with Mother Tunare and thus will have a direct effect on the amount of power you can gain from her – in short, your wisdom is what will determine your mana and thus have great effect on the number of life giving spells you can cast before you must rest and pray to Mother Tunare for further life giving power. You also have the gift of being able to stand firm in combat – Mother Tunare has granted many gifts of melee that will help you to stand side by side with those who need you most. To do this, you have been allowed to wear plate armor, but if you expect to do so you must have the Strength to wear it – it is certainly quite heavy. Be sure you have the strength now to carry the equipment you wish to use later in your life. Two final attributes will determine how long you can stand with your Brothers and Sisters in combat – that is your Agility and Stamina. Both are of vital importance and should be enhanced to protect you so that you can thus protect others. Your agility determines the level of your Armor Class. Your Stamina determines both the amount of damage you can sustain and the amount of exertion you can put forth in battle. It is up to you to find the proper balance between these and all your other vital attributes. The Grandest Gift that Mother Tunare has given us, as Cleric’s, is our power of casting spells. Do not be fooled, just because we are the healers and restorers of life in Norrath doesn’t mean we cannot cause death to those who oppose Mother Tunare’s will. More than anything you will ever do, you must become a master of your spells. You will need such mastery in time. As you first set foot into this grand world around you, you will be able to fight as well as the warrior classes around you – but you must not let yourself become lax so early in life as this and choose the easy way. Yours is a path much more complex and the time you must work on your skills is now. Proof of this is that Mother Tunare has not only given us the necessary ‘buffing’, healing, and damage spells, but she’s also granted us with curing, blinding, calming, magic sensing, fear causing, and melee spells – and all of this at your very first level. Master them young Cleric, for if you do, you will in time realize the true power that Mother Tunare is preparing you to be the keeper of. Also at your very first level, Mother Tunare has entrusted you with one of the most astounding gifts in all of Norrath. That is the gift of her Divine Aura. It is a spell you will soon learn to treasure – it will save your life as it provides a period of complete protection. This spell will allow you to stay and help those in dire need when things have gone past dangerous and have become deadly. It is your responsibility to keep your companions alive, but always remember – You cannot protect anyone else if you cannot even protect yourself. If you are dead, your companions are doomed. You must protect your own life so that you will be alive to protect that of others. Mother Tunare, in all her infinite wisdom, knows this – that is why she has provided you with the potential to learn such spells as fear and her ever-powerful Divine Aura. At times, you may have to sacrifice yourself to save others. This is a tremendous sacrifice, but it brings with it the greatest honor one could ever receive. It is also something you must choose for yourself. Show your wisdom in everything you do. Soon you will be learning further spell casting ability’s, new skills, and gain greater insight into your world. In time, I will write you again, young child. If you wish further direction, I will provide such as you gain the need for it. It is with great pride, but with a touch of sadness that I must now send you forth into the harsh world of Norrath. I have faith that you will become a shining jewel in our class. I only hope you have the strength of spirit to always grow and prosper, never to turn away from those who love you most – Tunare’s Children and of course Mother Tunare herself. Now the time has come for you to go forth and bring us pride as you bring the gift of life to all of Mother Tunare’s children. I will be with you...always. Signed with a hopeful spirit and a humble heart By your Brother and Mentor in the Faith, Master Cleric Leto Acumen Of the Children of Tunare. PS. May Tunare’s blessing’s always protect you and bring you power. You are very precious in her eyes...treasure that...and learn from it. | ||
